Governors
A word from the chair
As Chair of the Governing Body, it is my privilege to welcome you to our inclusive school community here at Ysgol Pentraeth. At the heart of everything we do are the children, who thrive in a nurturing environment where their individuality and potential are celebrated. We are committed to working in partnership with parents, carers, and the wider community to ensure that every child feels supported, inspired, and valued. Together, we aim to be a school that is not only a place of learning but a hub of connection and opportunity for everyone involved. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Huw Parry
Chair of the governing body
The role of the governing body of a primary school in Anglesey is essential to ensure that the institution is run effectively and provides the highest standard of education for the pupils. The governing body is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school with the headteacher, including developing policies, monitoring, and implementing them. They oversee the school’s budget, ensure that resources are used efficiently, and support the headteacher and staff in delivering a rich and inspiring curriculum. Additionally, the governors play a key role in ensuring that the school complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, pupil welfare, and equal opportunities. Through their work, they support and promote the participation and voice of the local community in the development and success of the school.
