Information about The Welsh Language
The Welsh language is very important because it helps us remember our history and connect with our culture. At Ysgol Pentraeth, using Welsh in school makes students feel proud and part of a special community. It helps everyone talk to each other, from young children to older people, which is really important for keeping our traditions alive. For the Isle of Anglesey, keeping Welsh alive is key to making sure our island stays unique and full of life. If we all work together to speak and celebrate the Welsh language, it can grow strong again, letting future generations know where they come from and helping them be proud of who they are.
There are several advantages of being able to speak more than one language (multilingual). Some of these include:
Better Thinking Skills
Knowing more than one language helps your brain think better. It makes it easier to solve problems, remember things, and think clearly.
Understanding Different Cultures
When you speak different languages, you learn about other people's cultures and traditions. This helps you be kinder and more understanding of others.
More Job Choices
Speaking multiple languages can help you get more jobs when you grow up. Many companies want people who can talk to customers from different places.
Stronger Communication Skills
Knowing different languages can make you a better communicator. You learn how to express your ideas clearly and talk to different kinds of people.
Making Friends
Speaking more than one language helps you make friends with kids from different backgrounds. You can connect with more people and feel part of a bigger community.
